Every community is a living network of people, capability, ideas, and opportunity. TrustStone gives that network a memory: who is here, what they’re working on, what they need, what they can offer, what commitments are made, and what comes of them.
Most of what makes a place alive is the web you cannot see.
01 · The real problem
The institution is not the network.
Most communities have built programs, facilities, and institutions, then asked people to find their way into them. But people, ideas, needs, mentors, funders, spaces, and opportunities don’t move in straight lines. They move through relationships.
Any single institution is a powerful node. It isn’t the region. The region is the living network moving through and around it, like mycelium under a forest.
And when the conversation ends, most of what the network set in motion simply disappears. The notes get tossed. The follow-up happens, or doesn’t, and nobody can see which.
The valuable people are already in the network.

02 · What TrustStone does
TrustStone helps the network see itself.
TrustStone doesn’t replace the institution. It helps the institution see how capability moves through the larger network, and it helps the community remember what its own activity sets in motion.
Registration systems record attendance. Lending systems record transactions. Program systems record required activities. TrustStone preserves the relationships, assistance, promises, barriers, and next steps that explain what the work actually set in motion.

Connect is one visible expression of TrustStone. The same memory underneath it operates across programs, organizations, and community networks; a live event is simply where it’s easiest to see.
05 · Where it starts
Start with the work already in front of you.
TrustStone supports the workforce, small-business, nonprofit, entrepreneurship, and use-inspired innovation initiatives communities are already operating and funding. It preserves the relationships, assistance, commitments, barriers, and outcomes created through that work, even when delivery spans multiple organizations. Any of these is a valid place to begin, and each creates value on its own.
An event
Capture the connections, commitments, follow-up, and movement created through a gathering: a chamber member event, a pitch competition, a conference, or a community convening. No systems touched, no staff data entry, and it ends with a findings review: what moved, what was committed, what went quiet.
A program
Preserve what happens across an accelerator, a mentorship initiative, a small-business support pathway, a workforce program, or a nonprofit capacity-building effort. The program runs exactly as it runs today while TrustStone observes the full loop, and you keep the learning report, whatever happens next.
A community network
Create a shared layer of memory across organizations, programs, events, resources, and community front doors. The interface changes by community, but the memory underneath stays one, and the record continues when someone moves from one organization to another.
06 · Impact
Impact doesn’t begin with the final report.
It begins when a need is understood, a useful connection is made, support is delivered, and someone follows through. TrustStone preserves that path while the work is active, so nobody has to reconstruct it later.
For program operators
See who needs attention, where pathways are stalling, and which support is missing, while there is still time to act. Absence is a first-class finding.
For funders & community leaders
See a credible evidence trail from the work supported to the movement and outcomes observed. Reporting is aggregate: partners see outcomes, never individuals.
Every finding carries an evidence level, and the record stays honest about what it doesn’t know. A system that declines to overclaim is the one worth trusting with a community’s record.
07 · The community architect
Every community has people who see across boundaries.
They recognize missing relationships, connect people and resources, and notice where separate efforts could become more useful together. They might sit in a chamber, a bank or CDFI, a foundation, a university, a workforce organization, a nonprofit, local government, or an ecosystem-building organization. The title varies; the role is unmistakable.
TrustStone gives these community architects a working view of needs, capabilities, commitments, gaps, and emerging possibilities, so they can act while the work is still in motion.

09 · About
Built from inside community work.
TrustStone grew from watching the same thing happen for years: communities create real value through introductions, mentoring, technical assistance, and informal acts of support, and almost none of it gets kept. The record disappears, and with it the ability to see what all that effort set in motion.
Founder Mike Steely has spent his career as an ecosystem builder, startup coach, and connector across entrepreneurial programs, community organizations, and innovation initiatives. He has launched multiple startups of his own and served as a commercialization architect for others. His seat has usually been the one TrustStone is built to support: seeing across boundaries and helping separate efforts become useful together.
Mike is joined by technical co-founder Michael Pascoe, who has built multiple startups, and by collaborators with decades of experience across community development, entrepreneurship, technology, and program design. TrustStone also works with Luminark and other implementation partners when strategy, deployment, and technical support need to come together.
Consent first. Individual data is never published, ranked, or scored. Findings carry evidence levels. Communities keep their learning reports, whatever happens next.
